Public Speaking Engagements
My 32-year career in Greater Manchester Police followed by a transition to become a successful and in-demand toastmaster and master of ceremonies have provided me with a wealth of material to entertain and enthral my audiences. I now offer my public speaking services to many groups and a range of events. I talk about my police career recounting fascinating, humorous and sometimes tragic stories about life as a police officer in a tough inner city environment. I tell the secrets of my success and how I achieved that success on the streets of Manchester and Salford. The talk about my toastmaster career is hilarious. I enlighten my audiences, telling them about the origins of the toastmaster and wedding traditions. I include plenty of real-life stories which will have you open-mouthed with amazement and rolling about with laughter. This is the third time that I have been Master of Ceremonies at the 'Ladies Who Lunch' event at this beautiful Lancashire hotel. It takes place on a quarterly basis when about 150 ladies from across the county pay £45 a head to attend this prestigious charity lunch. With immaculate timing, the guest speaker on this occasion was Edwina Currie, 48 hours after she had been unveiled as one of this year's participants in BBC TV's 'Strictly Come Dancing.'

On Saturday 14th May 2011 I was the MC at the President's Annual Dinner at the Castle Green Hotel, Kendal. That is not President Obama, it is the President of the Blinds and Shutters Association! It was a great night - I am told the MC was great!

On Friday 1st April 2011 I was the MC at The Perfectly Pink Ball at Stonyhurst College, Lancashire, in aid of Breast Cancer Research. It was hard work but we raised lots of money for this wonderful charity. I ran the auction and one item (a holiday for 10 in Val dIsere) fetched £16,000. Fantastic!
